Wollstonecraft is a station on the North Shore railway line of the Sydney Trains network. It serves the lower North Shore suburb of Wollstonecraft, and nearby parts of Greenwich. Station entry is from Shirley Road.

Wollstonecraft is staffed from 6:00am to 7:00pm on weekdays, and 8:00am to 4:00pm on weekends and public holidays.[1]

History[]

Wollstonecraft station opened on 1 May 1893 when the North Shore line opened from St Leonards to Milsons Point. Originally named Edwards Road, it was renamed to Wollstonecraft on 1 September 1900. The original buildings were replaced in the 1980s.

Lifts are currently being installed at Wollstonecraft as part of the Transport Access Program. The upgrade is expected to be completed in 2022.[2]

Configuration[]

The station consists of two side platforms, with steep ramps from both platforms up to Shirley Road and down to a pedestrian subway. It is the only station between North Sydney and Chatswood to not be fully accessible.

Wollstonecraft is known for being on the sharpest curve on the network, with a radius of 200m. As the sharp curve limits visibility from the middle of the train, CCTV monitors are provided on the platform to assist station staff and train guards.

Platforms and Services[]

The station serves trains on the T1 North Shore and Western Line and T9 Northern Line, as well as services to Gosford and Wyong during the peak. 8 trains per hour in each direction stop during the offpeak, boosted to 20 per hour during the peaks and reduced to 4 per hour late at night.
