Wauchope railway station is a regional station on the North Coast railway line. It serves the town of Wauchope.

History[]

Wauchope station opened on 12 April 1915 when the line was extended from Taree. It served as the terminus of the line until 3 December 1917, when the line was extended to Kempsey.

As part of the Transport Access Program, construction is underway to improve accessibility at Wauchope station. Key benefits include upgrading the existing ramp at the station entrance, new ambulant toilets, a formalised bus stop near the station entrance and improvements to CCTV, pathways, lighting and wayfinding. The upgrade is expected to be completed by early 2021. [1]

Configuration[]

Wauchope has a single platform on the main line. It also has a passing loop, along with another loop and siding for train storage.

Services[]

There are six XPT trains operating on the NSW TrainLink Regional North Coast line that stop at Wauchope station daily: one each to Grafton, Casino & Brisbane (Roma St) and three to Sydney (Central).

The station is also served by coaches twice weekly to Tamworth and daily to Port Macquarie.
