Waitara railway station, is on the North Shore line of the Sydney Trains network. It serves the suburb of Waitara. Station entry is accessed from Alexandria Parade and Waitara Avenue.

Waitara is staffed from 6:00am to 7:00pm on weekdays, and 8:00am to 4:00pm on weekends and public holidays.[1]

History[]

Waitara station opened on 20 April 1895. The original station was replaced by the present structure in 1909 when the line was duplicated.[2]

Planning is underway for an accessibility upgrade at Waitara as part of the Transport Access Program. The upgrade is expected to be completed in 2022.[3]
