Vineyard railway station is located along the Richmond branch line and is 49.2km from Central.[1] It serves the rural suburb of Vineyard. The station consists of a single side platform, with a ramp connecting it to the Bandon Rd level crossing. Vineyard is serviced by T1 Western and T5 Cumberland Line trains in either direction.
The station is unstaffed at all times.[2]
History[]
The original Vineyard station opened on 14 July 1935, later being rebuilt in 1991 as part of the electrification of the Richmond Line.
On 10 February 1994, a Tangara set, set number T99, derailed at the level crossing when it collided with a Toyota Tarago. Driving trailer car D6274 was extensively damaged in the accident and was subsequently written off. D6274 has since been replaced by spare car D6286.
Platforms and services[]
The station is served by two trains per hour each way, with additional trains during weekday peak hours.
