Towradgi is a small station located on the Illawara railway line. The station consists of 2 platforms, in a double side formation. Access to the station is provided from Towradgi Road.
History[]
This section of the Illawara railway line was opened on 21 June 1887. A siding opened near the site of the current station in 23 January 1913 and has since been closed. Towradgi station opened on 18th December 1948.[1][2]
Planning is underway for a station upgrade at Towradgi as part of the Transport Access Program to improve accessibility at the station. The upgrade is expected to be completed in 2022.[3]
Platforms and Services[]
The station is served by NSW TrainLink's South Coast Line. Except for a few overnight and peak services, only hourly local services stop at Towradgi, with a change of trains required if travelling to Kiama or Sydney.
