Ourimbah is a railway station on the Main Northern railway line, serving the Central Coast town of the same name. The station has two platforms. The station was built in 1886 and opened on 15 August 1887. It is served by NSW TrainLink's intercity services on the Central Coast & Newcastle line.
More than 2,000 passengers use the station per week. Pedestrian signals were installed at the Highway crossing adjacent to the station in 1997.
Upgrades[]
In 2013, Ourimbah received a station upgrade. Improvements included two new small ramps, new handrails, and tactile indicators. Construction began in June and was completed in September.
In the early 2020s, two new lifts were built as well as various other accessibility improvements, at Ourimbah. Construction began in July 2020 and finished in August 2021.
Both of these upgrades were part of the Transport Access Program.[1]
Platforms and services[]
Only all stations services on the Central Coast line stop at Ourimbah. Train frequency is usually hourly in both directions.
The station consists of two side platforms, both around 136m long. Six OSCAR carriages fit on these platforms, however the short platform category is set as SP4 for the rare case where a V set needs to stop at Ourimbah, as the platform is a few metres too short for 6 V set carriages.
