North Ryde metro station is an underground station on the Metro North West Line of the Sydney Metro rapid-transit network in Sydney, Australia. It serves the suburb of North Ryde. Station entry is accessed via Delhi Road, where passengers can use lifts and escalators to reach the concourse and platforms below. Prior to September 2018, it was served by the Northern Line of the Sydney Trains network.
North Ryde is staffed from 10 minutes before the first metro service until 10 minutes after the last metro service everyday.[1]
History[]
North Ryde station opened on 23 February 2009 on the same date as the Chatswood to Epping line. It was built on the site of Network Ten's former television studios, now occupied by apartments named Ryde Gardens. It serves the nearby Lachlan's Line town centre (under construction September 2018).
The original, proposed name of the station was Delhi Road after the adjacent street. On 12 June 2006, North Ryde Railway Station was submitted to the Geographical Names Board of New South Wales as the provisional official name of the station.
North Ryde station closed at the end of September 2018 for seven months for conversion to a Sydney Metro station on the Metro North West Line, which included the installation of platform screen doors, designed in order to prevent accidents and fatalities caused by falling onto the tracks. New station signage in Sydney Metro's teal blue colour code was also installed on the entrance and platforms. The billboards were also removed.
The station reopened for Sydney Metro services on 26th May 2019.

North Ryde is an underground station consisting of a single island platform. Like all stations on the Sydney Metro network, it has glass platform screen doors in order to keep passengers safe from the tracks.
