Welcome to NSWTs Wiki’s Policy!
Hello, Reader! You are expected to read this policy before editing, It will help you down the line, we promise you we’ll treat our users with respect and we ask you to do the same thing too.

Thank you! - The NSW Trains wiki staff.

Files on the NSW Trains Wiki can be of three types: images, audio clips and videos. They each serve a purpose on this wiki, as will be explained in this policy.

Files in Articles[]

Ideally articles should have at least one image to illustrate the subject of the article. However, too many images can create too much scrolling and drives readers away. Because of this, the maximum amount of files in an article will be from 3-8 files, which must differ significantly. All other files that you wish to include should be placed on a /gallery subpage then linked from the "see also" section heading.

Quality of Files[]

The quality of files used should be of a reasonably good quality, with the main image in an article being at least 300px and in an infobox. All other images should ideally range from 200px-300px, but can be larger. In an article, a file should never be placed bigger than 275px (unless in an infobox), otherwise it takes up too much space. Files of a lower resolution than 150px can be speedy deleted under the deletion policy

Unused Files[]

If a file has been uploaded and is unused for a time period longer than 1 month, it will be deleted by an administrator. You may reupload it if you place it in an article.

Copyright[]

When you upload a file, you must attribute it with a license, whether it be fair use, from Wikimedia or in the public domain. If you upload a file with a license that states that you have asked the copyright holder, you may be asked to provide evidence of this. Any files that breach copyright will be deleted by an administrator

Off-Topic Files[]
