Mulgrave railway station is located on the Richmond branch line and is 52.6km from Central.[1] It serves the rural and industrial area around Mulgrave, as well as the nearby suburb of Mcgraths Hill. Mulgrave is serviced by T1 Western and T5 Cumberland Line trains in both directions.
The station is staffed from 6am to 2pm on weekdays (Mon-Fri), but is unattended on weekends.[2]
History[]
The station opened on 1st December 1864. Apart from the main line and passing loop, the station once also had a goods siding adjacent to the main line. The area around the station was once controlled by a signal box on the platform, however this signal box has since been demolished. The entire line is now controlled from Blacktown signalling centre.
Upgrade[]
In April 2014, Mulgrave received a station upgrade. There were many improvements such as a new accessible ramp and improved safety through additional CCTV surveillance cameras and lighting.[3]
Platforms and services[]
There is one island platform serving both the main line and a passing loop. The station has a single entry at the northern end off the Mulgrave Rd level crossing, which is wheelchair accessible.
The station is served by two trains per hour each way, with additional trains during weekday peak hours.
