Mount Druitt railway station is located along the Main Western Line and is 43.8km from Sydney CBD.[1] It serves the local residential, industrial and shopping areas in conjunction with a nearby bus interchange. The station consists of two islands (forming four platforms), linked by a disability-accessible overhead concourse. Mt Druitt is serviced by Sydney Trains T1 Western Line services.
Mount Druitt is the 31st most patronised railway station in Sydney (out of a total of 176 stations), with an average of 7140 passengers boarding per day.

History[]
The first railway station in Mount Druitt was opened on 19 August 1881. It was replaced by a station which was erected in 1946 near Belmore Avenue (a pedestrian bridge marks the location of the railway crossing and station). The current station (adjacent to Westfield Mount Druitt, located to the north of the station) was opened on 8 December 1974. Electric services commenced on 8 October 1955, with an opening ceremony conducted by the then Premier of New South Wales Joseph Cahill.[4]
Upgrade[]
In May 2009, construction began on a new commuter car park as part of the Transport Access Program. The two storey facility, located north-east of the train station, provides 220 additional parking spaces for customers.[5]
Platforms and Services[]
The station has four platforms in two islands. Platforms 1-2 serve eastbound trains while platforms 3-4 serve westbound trains. Platforms 1-4 face the main tracks, while platforms 2-3 face the suburban tracks.
Mt Druitt receives 4 trains per hour in each direction during the offpeak, boosted to 10 trains per hour during the peak. All express trains stop at Mt Druitt.[6]
