Macquarie University metro station is an underground station on the Metro North West Line of the Sydney Metro rapid-transit network in Sydney, Australia. It serves the suburb of Macquarie Park. Station entry is accessed via two entrances at the intersection of Waterloo Road and Lane Cove Road, where passengers can use lifts and escalators to reach the concourse and platforms below. Prior to September 2018, it was served by the Northern Line of the Sydney Trains network.
Macquarie University is staffed from 10 minutes before the first metro service until 10 minutes after the last metro service everyday.[1]
History[]
Macquarie University station opened on 23 February 2009 on the same date as the Chatswood to Epping line. The station is located at the intersection of Waterloo Road and Herring Road, Macquarie Park, adjacent to Macquarie University and Macquarie Shopping Centre.
Macquarie University station closed at the end of September 2018 for seven months for conversion to a Sydney Metro station on the Metro North West Line, which included the installation of platform screen doors, designed in order to prevent accidents and fatalities caused by falling onto the tracks. New station signage in Sydney Metro's teal blue colour code was also installed on the entrance and platforms. The billboards were also removed.
The station reopened for Sydney Metro services on 26th May 2019.

Macquarie University is an underground station consisting of a single island platform. Like all stations on the Sydney Metro network, it has glass platform screen doors in order to keep passengers safe from the tracks. A bus interchange is also accessible from the nearby Macquarie Centre.
