Beresfield railway station is a station located on the Main North line. The station consists of 2 platforms in a single island formation. It serves the suburb of Beresfield.
History[]
Beresfield station opened on 21 July 1925. [1]
Crash and Redevelopment[]
On 23 October 1997, Beresfield station was severely damaged when a coal train passed through a red signal and struck the rear of another coal train near the station. As a result, dozens of coal wagons fell onto the station. By 2002, the station was redeveloped and received new easy access facilities.
Platforms and Services[]
The station is served by Hunter line services, at a frequency of 2 per hour in each direction on weekdays and 1 per hour on weekends. The platform is 124m long (enough for almost 5 cars).
