Banksia railway station is on the Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line of the Sydney Trains network. It serves the suburb of Banksia, and parts of Arncliffe and Rockdale. Station entry is accessed through side stairs to platform 1 on Railway Street, platform 4 on Hattersley Street, and platforms 2 and 3 via an underpass between both streets.

History[]
Banksia station opened on 21 October 1906 with one island platform. In 1923, as part of the quadruplication of the Illawarra line from Wolli Creek to Rockdale, Platforms 1 and 4 were later built along with the underpass.
In September 2021, construction commenced on a station upgrade at Banksia, as part of the Transport Access Program. Improvements included three new lifts, a new kiss and ride area, upgraded surveillance, and additional canopy coverage. The upgrade was completed in April 2022. [2] [3]
